• It did very well for us this first year, even though we stripped it way down to the crown to prevent rust in our gardens from new arrivals. Pretty much the same as in the picture from Pierce. Because we can't sell any the year those plants are introduced, we'll have 1 nice big fan available in June 2026. From Pierce: "Introducing Cheeky Cheddar, a stunning daylily for 2025 that promises to bring a burst of color to your garden! Standing at 35 inches (89 cm), this semi-evergreen tetraploid showcases captivating 6.75-inch (17 cm) blooms in a striking dark plum red. The unique orange and green ruffled edging adds a playful touch, while the vibrant green throat enhances the overall beauty, making each flower a true standout. With an early midseason bloom time and reblooming capabilities, Cheeky Cheddar will keep your garden lively throughout the growing season. Featuring 50 buds on 9 branches, this variety is sure to deliver a spectacular display of color and texture. Amazing and beautiful, Cheeky Cheddar is perfect for gardeners looking to add a unique touch to their collections. Don’t miss out on this delightful addition that’s sure to turn heads and brighten any landscape!" Semi-evergreen. 50 buds. Pix from Floyd Cove Nursery.

  • ITS COLOUR ABSOLUTELY BLEW OUR MINDS!!! A really unique mango feel that is really hard to beat (and we've seen our share of daylilies over the years...). Same as for Cheeky Cheddar and other 2025 intros, we cannot sell any in 2025, hence the June 2026 shipping date. Only 1 available. Grew really well. From Pierce: "Get ready to be dazzled by Cheeky Mango, a vibrant daylily introduction for 2025! Rising to a height of 32 inches (81 cm), this evergreen tetraploid features stunning 7.75-inch (19 cm) blooms in a rich dark orange spice hue. The bold orange edge adds a bubbly flair, while a pleated triangular green throat creates a captivating focal point in each flower. With an early midseason bloom time and the ability to rebloom, Cheeky Mango ensures your garden remains lively and colorful throughout the season. Its impressive 40 buds on 7 branches guarantee a spectacular show of blooms, perfect for adding warmth and brightness to any landscape. A delightful cross between Purely Orange and a seedling, Cheeky Mango embodies both beauty and performance. This unique and bold daylily is a must-have for any garden enthusiast seeking to make a statement!" Evergreen. 40 buds. Pix from Floyd Cove Nursery.

  • From Gossard's site: "Flowers are wine red with lighter watermark and white toothy edge with hooks and fangs with a very green throat. What a pedigree, tetra Emerald Starburst to make the throat greener. Pins and Needles to add some more teeth. Slash, this year’s 2023 introduction, to add teeth and color and Cost of Freedom and Eternal Treasure adding color and big edging. Tetra Sharon's Delight to increase size. A unique daylily. Dinosaur King is very heavy and as a result is not an early morning opener. Very Limited." Semi-evergreen. Pix from Gossard.

  • A real delight in the garden. Pretty much the same face every single day. We crossed it heavily with more blueish flowers, namely Yoga Man, Sc. Peace Maker and Blueberry Icing. From Korth: "The dominant feature in the flower is the large lavender eye that extends to the wide edge. Around the eye is a band of violet mirrored in the edge. The cream petal color is quite small but accents the other colors. In the garden, Celestial Waters is a little shorter than most of our plants making it an ideal plant for the border edge. The scapes are well budded and bloom above the foliage. We had reblooms in 2023. The foliage is dormant and hardy here in our harsh winters." Main pix from Korth. Other pix ours.

This daylily is both smooth and colorful, and not to mention crazy bright. Nice tall study scapes, with a double picotee edge. Crazy Feathers goes all season long. This is the largest applique I have ever done. Fertile both ways." Main pix from hybridizer. Other pix ours.

  • From Polston: "This Magnificent introduction will stop you in your tracks with it's size teeth and vivid color. Fertile both ways but a difficulty pod parent, someone with a greenhouse should see better results with setting pods. The scapes are not as strong as I'd like but get stronger as fans increase. The kids I have seen are looking great as this one does throw it's size and amazing teeth and color to it's offspring." Dormant. Pix from hybridizer.
