According to Holmes: “BLOODSPORT is a medium melon pink on hotter days to a more purple shades on cooler days. The toothy greenish-gold edge always shows itself in our garden. This daylily was selected on maiden bloom. I was looking for a toothy daylily in the cross with improved color over BASS GIBSON. In my opinion BLOODSPORT captured this quality. I’ve used this daylily extensively in hybridizing and the seedlings have not disappointed. BLOODSPORT has been an outstanding parent and is very showy in the garden.
