From Korth: "We purchased the pollen parent (King Solomon’s Treasure) for it’s genetics and large size. It was quite evergreen and was not a great performer in the garden. However, when crossed into our dormant August Wedding line, we kept the large size and beauty while adding northern hardiness. This stunning near white self has 4 inch wide petals and huge ruffles. Without a hint of gold edge, this Solomon’s Bride stands out for its clean color. Despite the large ruffles, Solomon’s Bride is an excellent opener. It is fertile both ways." Dormant. 15 buds. It did not disappoint in 2026 when it first bloomed for us. That eye zone is simply striking; very large, very blue! And it rebloomed for us. Breakthrough creamy off-white flowers highlighted by a striking bluish-violet eye zone with varying shades and a vibrant deep green throat. Evergreen. 26-32 buds. Pix from hybridizers. From the hybridizers: "Spacecoast Big Frosty is an early bloomer, this gorgeous, 9 inch-plus near white daylily will begin the bloom season with a spectacular show. She has great substance. This is one monster bloom, one of the biggest I have seen in a round flower. We call this the hibiscus form. Very rare genetics from a conversion that I paid $2,000 from Larry Grace. We always called the conversion, 2K. Some reverted back, but after testing many plants via flow cytometer, I have a 100% full tetraploid conversion of My Cup Overflows. This conversion was used to get SC Big Frosty. A very important daylily to be hybridized with some of the other large forms. A very outstanding Daylily with great plant habit and bud count." From the hybridizers: "Spacecoast Daylilies does not often introduce many double cultivars, so when we do, you know the daylily is really something special. John Kinnebrew Jr. picked a bloom of Spacecoast Scarlet Desire last May when I was down in Florida and set it on the table where we kept our hybridizing supplies. Each time I came back to it, I was struck by this Voluptuous Beauty. It just Glows, its velvety thick substance and saturated red color combined with its size- blooms literally fill your hand- draws you in again and again with its magnificence. Spacecoast Scarlet Desire, at 99 percent double, is an important daylily in our hybridizing program. Containing the genetics from the converted Double Red Head into a tetraploid, it is literally double the size of its parent and blows you away with its beauty. It's a great advancement in red doubles. The saturated color is super-sunfast, even in the Florida sun.
