  • From the hybridizer: "Redefinable is being sold as a hybridizer's daylily. Redefinable has been an excellent breeding daylily taking many variegated daylilies to the next level of fancy. I have many examples proving this to be true. As pictured, Redefinable does not carry the same variegation from bloom to bloom. Redefinable re-blooms up to 3 times. The first scape is short, blooms early, and the blooms aren't very fancy. The re-bloom scapes have been measured at 26 inches. As the daylily settles in during the season, the blooms become more fancy and heavy edged. Redefinable is an easy pod parent. Redefinable does not make huge fans. For folks that have grown Ragamuffin, I use that daylily as a guide as far a fan size comparison. Redefinable is being grown out for me in the South. If Rust is an issue for you, wait another year. Redefinable while evergreen, is a Northern Hardy Evergreen. I've grown Redefinable in zone 6 without snow cover multiple years. However I would recommend mulching it for the winter. Easy Pod/ Pollen Fertile. $500.00 Temporarily sold out for 2024." Evergreen. 12 buds. Pix from Holmes.

  • From Korth: "Burgundy with lighter watermark, orange/gold throat and edge. (Benjamin Andrew x Judgment Day) Breeding with daylilies can be fascinating and surprising. The unique feature of Redemption Day is the edge and throat that have distinct orange tones to them. Neither parent displays that trait, so the orange color is a surprise to us. Redemption Day has been a consistently fine garden plant with flowers that open well and have clean colors. The combination of burgundy and orange goes well together, and Redemption Day is the first of several promising seedlings in that color range. We have not used Redemption Day as much as we should have but our records indicate it is pod fertile. With two of our finest introductions as parents, Redemption Day should be an excellent hybridizing plant." Dormant. 17 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • From Korth: "Reign in Me is the best seedling for high bud count, clear color, good opening and overall vigor. When grown in a clump, Reign in Me puts on a great flower show with lots of scapes and high bud count. For breeding, Reign in Me combines the best genetics from our own Lydia's Cloth and Springwood Gardens very dormant Coronation Day. The result should be a great breeder for deep purples and white edges." Dormant. Pix from hybridizer.

  • From Korth: "Dark purple with blue/lavender watermark, green throat, and a white, toothy edge. (Richard Raeker x Worthy of All Praise) x (Free to Dance x Judgment Day) We knew Return of the King was going to be an introduction several years ago. It just needed time to increase to have enough to sell. It is one of those plants that just does not have any significant flaws. Flowers are good openers, nearly blemish free, have good substance, and occasionally rebloom for us. The scapes are tall and sturdy with good branching. No problem with hardiness as all the plants lined out for the winter of 2025 came through without a problem. As a breeding plant, it has already produced two seedlings that will be introductions in the coming years and many more that are under evaluation. We will see more next summer as we loaded Return of the King with seed pods from some of Karol Emmerich’s newer purples and are looking forward to that. It is pod and pollen fertile and passes its fine characteristics to its offspring. The best trait it passes on is the lack of blemishes on the dark flower petals. Return of the King is an excellent all-around plant and we know our customers will enjoy it." Dormant. 21 buds. Pix from Korth.
