  •   From Richard: "Pale pink with rose tips and yellow toothy edge. Another intro from Heavenly New Frontiers. Happy colors that light up the late garden. Fertile both ways. The name comes from an old European folklore tradition where beekeepers would inform their hives of major life events, like births, marriages, or deaths, believing that failing to do so would bring bad luck, causing the bees to leave or die. If someone died, the hive would be draped in black cloth, and the bees would be told the news, sometimes with a solemn knock or song, to keep them from mourning excessively or absconding. It's a practice rooted in the belief that bees are spiritual links to the otherworld and integral members of the household, requiring them to be kept "in the loop"." Semi-evergreen. 17 buds. • From the hybridizer: "Redefinable is being sold as a hybridizer's daylily. Redefinable has been an excellent breeding daylily taking many variegated daylilies to the next level of fancy. I have many examples proving this to be true. As pictured, Redefinable does not carry the same variegation from bloom to bloom. Redefinable re-blooms up to 3 times. The first scape is short, blooms early, and the blooms aren't very fancy. The re-bloom scapes have been measured at 26 inches. As the daylily settles in during the season, the blooms become more fancy and heavy edged. Redefinable is an easy pod parent. Redefinable does not make huge fans. For folks that have grown Ragamuffin, I use that daylily as a guide as far a fan size comparison. Redefinable is being grown out for me in the South. If Rust is an issue for you, wait another year. Redefinable while evergreen, is a Northern Hardy Evergreen. I've grown Redefinable in zone 6 without snow cover multiple years. However I would recommend mulching it for the winter. Easy Pod/ Pollen Fertile. $500.00 Temporarily sold out for 2024." Evergreen. 12 buds. Pix from Holmes.

  • From Miller: 'What sets this golden yellow with a wine red eye apart from the rest is how tall it is at 56” .You can see by the picture that it makes for a real showy clump. One thing I have started to talk about is getting daylilies that perform in the north and not just make it over the winter. Performance hardy is what I mean. Just having one that makes it over the winter is not good any more. We want them to bloom their heads off and repeat bloom and everything. (Have your cake and eat it too). A must have for people looking to add in the tall ones. Fertile both ways.' Semi-Evergreen. 30-35 buds. Pix from hybridizer.

  • REBLOOMED FOR US INTO OCTOBER!!! From Korth: "I tend to photograph the most perfect flowers in the garden each day. In 2017, I kept photographing Awaken the Dawn and my wife finally told me that was enough. This flower has heavy texture and is very ruffled but opens well. This results in consistently beautiful flowers. The complex color, smooth texture, fragrance, and huge gold edge make this one of our finest pink cultivars we have introduced. Not only a standout in the garden, Awaken the Dawn is fertile both ways and producing excellent seedlings." Dormant. 18 buds. Pix from Korth.
