Dark mauve flower with black eye and edge. Sends very strong scapes. Vigourous plants. Semi-evergreen. -
It grew so well, hence the lower price! Standing tall and proud in the garden, a real beacon! We crossed it with Sears Tower to get even more height and Certosa and other green-throated flowers to enhance its allure! From the hybridizers: "Flowers are golden-yellow with a very green throat and fringy edge. Spacecoast The Green Mile is John Kinnebrew's favorite introduction this year. The overlay of green lacquer and color is outstanding. It usually has proliferations, planting them yields a clump by next season in Florida. A very rapid increaser. A mixture of northern and southern parents from both of Kinnebrew and Gossard lines. Heavenly Danger Zone and Heman dormant genes. A great parent for yellows and golds with huge green throat. Some kids can be covered with shark's teeth. The teeth range in colors varying from yellow, gold, white, and green. An outstanding garden and show flower. Very easy parent, fertile both ways. The go-to plant as a pod parent for hard to use conversions. 28-36 buds. Semi-evergreen. Main pix from the hybridizers. Other pix ours.Additional information

From the hybridizers: "Spacecoast Thor's Hammer smashes into the garden landscape with a big, bold, bright Whack that is head and shoulders above any toothy gold out there. A kid of Heman, it is an Outstanding, heavily substanced flower with an 8 inch bloom. Spacecoast Thor's Hammer is definitely not to be missed! With strong, well branched scapes, awesome branching and budcount, and a northern hardy parent, this cultivar should thrive across a multitude of zones, spreading its mythological presence everywhere it goes." Grew super well and bloomed exactly like on the main pix. Easy parent to work with. We crossed it with toothy cultivars like Mary Kathryn's Delight, Black Wolf, Battle of the Ages and Bob and Linda Giuliani. According to Gossard: "Flowers are rich black wine with a huge yellow green edge and yellow green throat. Some days, Spacecoast Vader's Saber can be near black. This is one of John's favorites. Opens very well for such a huge edge. Has excellent plant habit, branching and bud count. It makes for a grand garden plant as well as hybridizing parent." Evergreen. Main pix from the hybridizers.
