From Emmerich's description: "Color ranges from dark lavender to violet cranberry; chalky lavender watermark and edge plus ivory; yellow to green throat. Why introduce this one since there are others around with similar looks? Because it is a great zone 4 garden flower and insisted each day I walked by that it shouldn't be ignored - Blooms are consistent, it grows fast and has lots of scapes, so it is almost always a bouquet bloomer as pictured. From Gossard's site: "Flowers are red with lighter red watermark and green throat. Heavy edge varies in color from white, chartreuse, and gold. A fabulous flower with a heavy edge seldom seen in the North. Sometimes huge angel wings appear. I have seen flowers hang occasionally. Been an important flower for breeding with 'Heavenly New Frontier' and 'Wolfman' kids. It has tetra 'Rose F. Kennedy' on both of parents' side. Northern Hardy." Semi-evergreen. The purple edge (flecked with shades of lilac) is encircled with yellow gold filigree and elaborately embellished with talons and sparkles of diamond and amethyst. The eye shows phenomenal colour saturation in imperial purple, above the yellow to green throat. The EMO form is full, quite flat, overlapped, and widespread. GSTQ is a very fertile parent both ways. Its kids easily display embellished double and triple edges. The strongly recurrent scapes are branched 3-4 ways, with 26 or more buds.
