• From Korth: "Deep burgundy with green throat and bright gold edge. (Pinewood Sledgehammer x Benjamin Andrew) Pinewood Sledgehammer is our 2024 introduction that introduced converted tetraploid genetics (T. Rose F. Kennedy) into our Velvet Hammer lines. Pinewood Sledgehammer is an impressive flower, but it is slow to increase and will not be available for sale for several years. Benjamin Andrew is typically sold out as well. Benny’s Hammer is a good chance to get the genetics from these two fabulous flowers. While not as large as either parent, Benny’s Hammer has a rich color that surpasses Pinewood Sledgehammer and is more consistent in opening and appearance than Benjamin Andrew. As a hybridizing plant, Benny’s Hammer is pod and pollen fertile. We saw an outstanding seedling from Benny’s Hammer in the summer of 2025. In the garden, Benny’s Hammer produced numerous beautiful flowers on fine scapes. It was quite a show-off in 2025. We are confident that people will enjoy Benny’s Hammer in their garden and if used for hybridizing, they will be rewarded with beautiful seedlings." Dormant. 23 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • From Pierce: "Deep red with deep olive throat, watermelon watermark, wide ruffled green edge with angel wings, diamond dusted. ((Spooky Moon x Jeweled for Royalty) × (Emperor's Treasure x sdlg)) Best in Show reaches an impressive 38 inches (96 cm) and presents commanding 7.5-inch (19 cm) blooms, backed by exceptional plant performance with 45 buds on eight strong, well-distributed branches. An early-early season, evergreen tetraploid with dependable rebloom, it flaunts rich deep red petals illuminated by a deep olive throat and a striking watermelon watermark that enhances its depth and dimension. The wide green ruffled edge, accented with angel-wing flourishes, adds dramatic sculpting, while diamond dusting gives each bloom a sparkling, jewel-like finish. With parentage from Spooky Moon, Jeweled for Royalty, Emperor's Treasure, and a select seedling, Best in Show embodies power, refinement, and award-winning presence in every flower." • According to Stamile: "BENEATH STILL WATERS is the sib to Space X and Sky Works. It is an ivory with a multiple patterned eye of amethyst, beet purple, mauve, flax blue and charcoal with a citron green throat and petal edge of beet purple and lavender. Two things I especially like about BENEATH STILL WATERS are it never has a “bad hair day” where the blooms hang up or don’t open. It is always open nice and flat and it is always in bloom. Once it starts blooming it sends up scape after scape. The scapes are somewhat of a curiosity. While I registered it as 3 - way branching and 15 buds, scapes are always either that or 5 - way branching and 25 buds." Fertile both ways. Evergreen.

  • From Gossard: "Blue Beetle has creme pink flowers with a eye zone of charcoal, light blue, blue, lavender blue, lavender purple, purple, maroon and maroon red. Petals even have a start of a gold edge, see outside photo. Blue Beetle is my best introduction for 2010 for many reasons. One of the difficulties of hybridizing for Blue eyed daylilies is that they are blue in the morning and by noon they are more lavender. Blue Beetle is my best one which retains the blue eye in the afternoon, it was and still is my number 1 parent for blue daylilies. Substance is very good and flowers hold up to the evening hours. Thus, I consider Blue Beetle a real break though. Third of the way through bloom, it starts to double. Rebloom scapes can be fully double. Because it does not double all the time, it was not registered as a double. Blue Beetle's form is in between and can be utilized in round or narrow hybridizing." Semi-evergreen. 18-22 buds.

  • WOW WOW WOW! We're probably one of the few growers in North America to have had the privilege of working with this one. Finest from Kulpa. Grew really well for us. Purple red with purple eye zone above a yellow green throat, petals edged with yellow white shark's teeth. Easily fertile both ways. We took it to dark and heavily toothy flowers in hope of increasing sizes, bud counts and depth of colour. Semi-evergreen. 15 buds. Main pix from the hybridizer. Others from us.

  • REBLOOMED FOR US INTO OCTOBER!!! From Korth: "I tend to photograph the most perfect flowers in the garden each day. In 2017, I kept photographing Awaken the Dawn and my wife finally told me that was enough. This flower has heavy texture and is very ruffled but opens well. This results in consistently beautiful flowers. The complex color, smooth texture, fragrance, and huge gold edge make this one of our finest pink cultivars we have introduced. Not only a standout in the garden, Awaken the Dawn is fertile both ways and producing excellent seedlings." Dormant. 18 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • From Gossard: "Flowers of Burnin' Down The Town are light red with dark black purple eye zone and feathered reddish, green throat. A very unusual color combination. Grew it at back of property where it was not taken care of and performed very well. It caught my attention every time I went by it. Bloomed some very nice patterns from it. No big surprise since pedigree is full of patterns." Dormant. Pix from hybridizer.
