From Korth: "Lavender petals with lavender blue eye and edge. Pinewood Miracle Worker was one of our most popular cultivars when introduced in 2024. Healer of Nations is the first (of many) introduction to come from Pinewood Miracle Worker. Healer of Nations is similar in color but has wider petals and a larger, more ruffled edge. The edge has 3 colors, going from purple to lavender to cream on the outside. As a garden plant, it is a standout. Extremely vigorous, this is the first tetraploid to be introduced from the 2020 bloom season. Obviously hardy here due to its rapid increase, it should grow well in a variety of climates. Blooms open well and the bud count is good for our northern climate. As a breeder, Healer of Nations is easily pod and pollen fertile. We had some initial success using pollen from its first bloom season, but 2024 was an eye-opener. 17 seedlings were selected for further evaluation (the most of any pod parent) with Healer of Nations as the pod parent. The seedlings were unique and beautiful with many having been noted as having excellent scapes in year one. We never saw Healer of Nations or its seedlings display any extra petal tissue. Even with Double Blessing as a parent, Healer of Nations does not seem to pass on any traits for those breeding doubles. Where do we start. Might as well just cut and paste what Gossard had to say about it: "Flowers of 'Heavenly New Frontiers' are pink with lighter watermark and gold toothy edge above a green throat. One of the first flowers I introduced that was ground breaking in its time was 'Heavenly Beginnings'. Today the grandkids such as 'Heavenly New Frontiers' have arrived. Like 'H. Beginnings' was the beginning of my toothy program, 'H. New Frontiers' is going to take us into the unexplored regions, the New Frontier. First of all it is the first known Pentaploid. I expect many others to exist, but first registed as. It is extremely pod and pollen fertile. Its pollen sets on 3.5x, 4x, 5x ploidy with ease. It and 'Heavenly Way Big' are the most powerful pollens I have ever used in a daylily. The substance is much better than normal tetraploids. (...) This opens the doors for all hybridizers that want to cross across ploidy levels. I believe we can cross the hexaploids with the diploids to get diploids with tetraploid genes. (...) The possibilities are endless. This is my best daylily I have introduced to date, that why the seedling number was G1. We're so happy we got our hands on one of these. It blooms the exact same colour as in the pix from Pierce. According to Pierce: "I just love this daylily. Not red, and so I did not flag her in the field (at first) because she was not red. Silly Me! EVERY time I walked by I could not stop and stare, like it had a hold on me. Heman is an improved HEAVENLY BEGINNINGS, with better color and bigger edge. I know of no other large daylily with such a gigantic edge, it always has a 1/2 to 3/4 inch edge no matter the environmental conditions.
