We were a little bit sceptical about all of those claims, how wonderful that cultivar is... (Reblooms for us on same growth, btw.) Well... Where do we start? Might as well just cut and paste what Gossard had to say about it: "Flowers of 'Heavenly New Frontiers' are pink with lighter watermark and gold toothy edge above a green throat. One of the first flowers I introduced that was ground breaking in its time was 'Heavenly Beginnings'. Today the grandkids such as 'Heavenly New Frontiers' have arrived. Like 'H. Beginnings' was the beginning of my toothy program, 'H. New Frontiers' is going to take us into the unexplored regions, the New Frontier. First of all it is the first known Pentaploid. I expect many others to exist, but first registed as. It is extremely pod and pollen fertile. Its pollen sets on 3.5x, 4x, 5x ploidy with ease. It and 'Heavenly Way Big' are the most powerful pollens I have ever used in a daylily. The substance is much better than normal tetraploids. (...) This opens the doors for all hybridizers that want to cross across ploidy levels. I believe we can cross the hexaploids with the diploids to get diploids with tetraploid genes. (...) The possibilities are endless. This is my best daylily I have introduced to date, that why the seedling number was G1. On its maiden bloom, several hybridizers saw it and I was offered $5,000 for it." Dormant habit. Pix from Gossard.Additional information

From Gossard: "Heavenly Purplicious is a full sibling to this year's Eno Vino, and displays some of the different characteristics the Amazing genetics brings to the table in the background of this daylily. Like Eno Vino, there are a plethora of conversions in the background of this daylily. Crystal Blue Persuasion? Got it. Lavender Blue Baby? YEP. Now how about adding in doses of Rose F Kennedy and then Crossing with Tetra EMERALD STARBURST! Even if this daylily wasn't every bit as beautiful as it is (and it is AMAZING ) the genetics alone and the Tetraploid conversions present in this daylily make it worth thousands of dollars alone. Heavenly Purplicious displays the blue of Crystal Blue Persuasion and Lavender Blue Baby and the more triangular, almost applique eye of Tetra Emerald Starburst. Skip the steps of trying to locate rare and difficult to use conversions and go with Heavenly Purplicious to move your program forward. The sky is the limit with this one." Dormant. We're so happy we got our hands on one of these. It blooms the exact same colour as in the pix from Pierce. Outstanding colour clarity. And reblooms easily and profusely for us!!! According to Pierce: "I just love this daylily. Not red, and so I did not flag her in the field (at first) because she was not red. Silly Me! EVERY time I walked by I could not stop and stare, like it had a hold on me. Then I realized… She is a glowing Watermelon – Dah, And with the deep green throat and edging it did not have to be…Red. HELLO JALAPENO Opens perfectly." Semi-evergreen. Main pix from hybridizer. Other pix ours.Additional information

From Gossard: "Heman, the name says it all, the biggest baddest daylily in the universe. I have seen first blooms at 10 inches with a monster 1 inch edge. Heman is an improved HEAVENLY BEGINNINGS, with better color and bigger edge. I know of no other large daylily with such a gigantic edge, it always has a 1/2 to 3/4 inch edge no matter the environmental conditions. Flowers are a blended orange-red with huge 3/4 to 1 inch gold yellow edges. Teeth are on both petals and sepals, throat is yellow green. Flowers are bitone with sepals being more blended with yellow People have been talking about how to get edges on the spiders, Heman is a key parent for obtaining this quest. It has been an outstanding parent for me. Contains the full set of cold hardy genetics. Will become a legend." Dormant. Main pix from Gossard. Other one from us.Additional information

From Pierce: "Basically what is emerging here, with a hell of a lot of hard work, is a new daylily color; Green. Now HIGH MOUNTAIN DEW is not green, But, and here it is… They ARE coming, step by step using Tens of thousands of seed, AND Time. But this is for another day. Visitors have commented, and I feel it is a fair, close example, they say “That big one looks like a huge Tennis Ball”, I will tell you “She is certainly NOT a yellow”. HIGH MOUNTAIN DEW is also the best and most full form I have released in this coloration – Yea!!! One of the best Tetra Rose F. Kennedy offspring to date. A Warning; After only a few blooms, you will find yourself not able to look at (older/other) yellows the same way again. She is easily fertile both ways." Semi-evergreen.
