  • From Korth: "Telperion was the legendary white tree of Valinor in the writings of J.R.R Tolkien. With leaves of dark green and flowers of glowing silver, Telperion the tree was a glorious sight. The daylily Telperion may not shed light of its own, but the cream white flowers with gold edges tinted green are a cooling sight in the garden. Flowers open great with large edges of lacy chartreuse. We have not introduced a near white in several years but Telperion is a unique flower for us with the greenish lacy edge from Fringy in a hardy dormant plant that excels in the north. Fertile both ways, it has been a good breeder for us." Dormant. 16 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • From Korth: "We purchased the pollen parent (King Solomon’s Treasure) for it’s genetics and large size. It was quite evergreen and was not a great performer in the garden. However, when crossed into our dormant August Wedding line, we kept the large size and beauty while adding northern hardiness. This stunning near white self has 4 inch wide petals and huge ruffles. Without a hint of gold edge, this Solomon’s Bride stands out for its clean color. Despite the large ruffles, Solomon’s Bride is an excellent opener. It is fertile both ways." Dormant. 15 buds. • From Korth: "Sign of Jonah looked like an introduction from its first bloom. The large lavender/blue eye is banded by purple and is copied on the sepals. Sturdy, tall scapes with good budcount hold these unique flowers in prime position for viewing. After several years of evaluation, we have enough to introduce and can highly recommend it for the garden or hybridizing. See pictures below that show Sign of Jonah and its offspring. Sign of Jonah is fertile both ways and we wisely used it for breeding early on. It has been a workhorse in our lavender/blue eye breeding program with the eye and edge getting larger in the seedlings. We have several potential introductions with Sign of Jonah as a parent being lined out and evaluated." Dormant. 19 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • From Korth: "Lavender petals with lavender blue eyezone outlined with purple; purple and lavender petal edge. Raging Sea is a full sibling to our fine 2024 introduction Heart of the Sea. Raging Sea has the same unique genetic mix of southern evergreens with our dormant Sign of Jonah. The flower appearance is noticeably darker (angrier) and features a larger edge for a much different look. Raging Sea is an excellent garden plant. The flowers are showy and consistent with the foliage having great northern hardiness. As a hybridizing plant, it is fertile both ways and will produce fancy seedlings." • From Korth: "Pinewood Lily Pad is a striking daylily with a unique appearance. We received many compliments from garden visitors when they saw this flower. The bitone flowers have chartreuse sepals without any red. When combined with the huge green throat and flat form and this is a standout flower. The dark red petal tips are a great contrast to the green throat and appear dipped in ink." Dormant. Diploid. 22 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • From Korth: "Mighty to Save is one of the most complete daylilies in our garden. As a garden plant, Mighty to Save has northern hardiness, good vigor, and spectacular scapes featuring 33 buds. The flowers are stunning starting with a vibrant pink color. Add in the green throat, a greenish/gold ruffled edge and good opening in a variety of weather and that is a complete flower." • From Korth: "There are many purple flowers with white teeth and while I do not have firsthand knowledge of most of them, several characteristics of Judgment Day seem to be unique. First is the clear color. The petals and sepals are rich purple with a lighter lavender watermark. The toothy edge is consistent around the petals and sepals and the tooth color is normally white but can be light gold depending on the weather. Second is the general absence of blemishes on the petals and sepals. Going back to Lydia’s Cloth genetics, the lack of blemishes is a wonderful trait making the flowers of Judgment Day consistently beautiful. Third, the flowers do not open fully until 7 – 9 am depending on the weather that day. This has two benefits – (1) later opening avoids dew, rain, and bugs that can damage flowers overnight and (2) allows the dark flowers to look good later in the day." Dormant habit. 30 buds. • From Korth: "I tend to photograph the most perfect flowers in the garden each day. In 2017, I kept photographing Awaken the Dawn and my wife finally told me that was enough. This flower has heavy texture and is very ruffled but opens well. This results in consistently beautiful flowers. The complex color, smooth texture, fragrance, and huge gold edge make this one of our finest pink cultivars we have introduced. Not only a standout in the garden, Awaken the Dawn is fertile both ways and producing excellent seedlings." Dormant. 18 buds. Pix from Korth.
