  • From Korth: "Lavender petals with lavender blue eye and edge. Pinewood Miracle Worker was one of our most popular cultivars when introduced in 2024. Healer of Nations is the first (of many) introduction to come from Pinewood Miracle Worker. Healer of Nations is similar in color but has wider petals and a larger, more ruffled edge. The edge has 3 colors, going from purple to lavender to cream on the outside. As a garden plant, it is a standout. Extremely vigorous, this is the first tetraploid to be introduced from the 2020 bloom season. Obviously hardy here due to its rapid increase, it should grow well in a variety of climates. Blooms open well and the bud count is good for our northern climate. As a breeder, Healer of Nations is easily pod and pollen fertile. We had some initial success using pollen from its first bloom season, but 2024 was an eye-opener. 17 seedlings were selected for further evaluation (the most of any pod parent) with Healer of Nations as the pod parent. The seedlings were unique and beautiful with many having been noted as having excellent scapes in year one. We never saw Healer of Nations or its seedlings display any extra petal tissue. Even with Double Blessing as a parent, Healer of Nations does not seem to pass on any traits for those breeding doubles. However, if you are breeding for lavenders and blue with dormant foliage, Healer of Nations will be excellent." Dormant. 22 buds. Pix from Korth.

  • ONLY 1 SINGLE FAN AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. From Gossard: "Flowers are cream pink with a multi-colored patterned eye zone of blues, violet, purple and maroon with a very green throat. This blonde, blue-eyed beauty is such a gorgeous addition to this year’s line-up. The eye is a mesmerizing patterned combination of hues - different shades of blue, violet, purple, and maroon, with a striking green starburst throat. 'Heavenly Blue Eyes' is a perfect combination of its parents. It inherited the early-midseason bloom time, excellent pattern and eye-zone, the amazing branching and bud count, while in addition having an improved background, showing off its splendor to the max. It even gives a show as an early morning opener, and holds its beauty all day. If you love blue eyes like I do, you will definitely want this one.......$150 SF." Semi-evergreen. Pix from Gossard.

  • Where do we start. Might as well just cut and paste what Gossard had to say about it: "Flowers of 'Heavenly New Frontiers' are pink with lighter watermark and gold toothy edge above a green throat. One of the first flowers I introduced that was ground breaking in its time was 'Heavenly Beginnings'. Today the grandkids such as 'Heavenly New Frontiers' have arrived. Like 'H. Beginnings' was the beginning of my toothy program, 'H. New Frontiers' is going to take us into the unexplored regions, the New Frontier. First of all it is the first known Pentaploid. I expect many others to exist, but first registed as. It is extremely pod and pollen fertile. Its pollen sets on 3.5x, 4x, 5x ploidy with ease. It and 'Heavenly Way Big' are the most powerful pollens I have ever used in a daylily. The substance is much better than normal tetraploids. (...) This opens the doors for all hybridizers that want to cross across ploidy levels. I believe we can cross the hexaploids with the diploids to get diploids with tetraploid genes. (...) The possibilities are endless. This is my best daylily I have introduced to date, that why the seedling number was G1. On its maiden bloom, several hybridizers saw it and I was offered $5,000 for it." Dormant habit. Pix from Gossard.

  • From Gossard: "Heavenly Purplicious is a full sibling to this year's Eno Vino, and displays some of the different characteristics the Amazing genetics brings to the table in the background of this daylily. Like Eno Vino, there are a plethora of conversions in the background of this daylily. Crystal Blue Persuasion? Got it. Lavender Blue Baby? YEP. Now how about adding in doses of Rose F Kennedy and then Crossing with Tetra EMERALD STARBURST! Even if this daylily wasn't every bit as beautiful as it is (and it is AMAZING ) the genetics alone and the Tetraploid conversions present in this daylily make it worth thousands of dollars alone. Heavenly Purplicious displays the blue of Crystal Blue Persuasion and Lavender Blue Baby and the more triangular, almost applique eye of Tetra Emerald Starburst. Skip the steps of trying to locate rare and difficult to use conversions and go with Heavenly Purplicious to move your program forward. The sky is the limit with this one." Dormant.
