According to Lawler: "This gorgeous flower is a fruity royal purple with deep cranberry overtones and has a crisp very ruffled light golden to white trim. A green throat and a faint chalk eye add to the beauty of this daylily. Rapture of Love is regal and playful at the same time and a spectacular site in the garden. OH WHAT A BEAUTY!!! Opens great for us even in bad and cold weather. Most of the times, it's slightly darker than compared with Emmerich's pix. Nothing wrong with that! Magenta, icy lilac watermark, lilac plus ivory edge. From Emmerich: "Good opener into the low 60's (not great below that), no spotting, scapes fabulous in the GH so should be higher branching going South. Nice foliage. Magenta; icy lilac watermark; lilac plus ivory edge; green throat. This is such a lovely flower that when it first bloomed in the greenhouse I didn't believe it would be hardy in Minnesota but it is! FABULOUS PARENT FOR HARDY DAYLILIES WITH ROUND FORMS, GORGEOUS FACES, FANCY EDGES, CHALKY WATERMARKS, GOOD SCAPES AND BUDCOUNT, AND A VERY HIGH PERCENTAGE OF KEEPER FLOWERS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANY HYBRIDIZER WITH THESE GOALS. ANYONE should be able to get gorgeous daylilies out of Ruler of Nations (hint: cross it with other introductions of mine with chalky watermarks as well as those by Guy Pierce if you have them - e.g. Master and Bold Ruler).
